Off to a Great Start

The Last Mrs. Parish by Liv Constantine, A mesmerizing debut psychological thriller full of delicious twists about a coolly manipulative woman who worms her way into the lives of a wealthy “golden couple” from Connecticut to achieve the privileged life she wants.
Amber Patterson is fed up. She’s tired of being a nobody: a plain, invisible woman who blends into the background. She deserves more—a life of money and power like the one blond-haired, blue-eyed goddess Daphne Parrish takes for granted. To everyone in the exclusive town of Bishops Harbor, Connecticut, Daphne and her husband, Jackson—the beautiful philanthropist and the confident real estate mogul—are a golden couple straight out of a fairytale, blessed with two lovely young daughters. Amber’s envy could eat her alive . . . if she didn't have a plan. Amber uses Daphne’s compassion and caring to insinuate herself into the family’s life—the first step in a meticulous scheme to undermine her. Before long, Amber is Daphne’s closest confidante, traveling to Europe with the Parrish family, and growing closer to Jackson. But a skeleton from her past may undermine everything that Amber has worked towards, and if it is discovered, her well-laid plan may fall to pieces. OMG this book was a trip! At the beginning I was questioning all the hype from other readers and then I was questioning the two women in the book. By the time I made it to part two I was understanding the hype and the two women in the book. I really didn't care for Amber at all and I am glad to see she got exactly what she wanted and more. I kind of felt sorry for Daphne for sure, especially in part one, because I was like are you not seeing what is going on here?!?! But by the end I was relieved to see she knew what was happening. I liked the extra twist that was thrown in too. Being her first book I think she did great and can't wait to see more from her for sure.

This was the first book from my 2018 PopSugar Reading Challenge. I hope that the rest of the books are just as good. I made a jar with all the prompts and books that fit the prompts so I can just pull from there, I didn't really want to read straight down the list. This way its a surprise at to what I am reading lol. My next pick that I pulled out was the book with twins as the characters. I chose to read Mary Higgins Clark: Two Little Girls in Blue.

I have also set my reading goal on Goodreads for 60 books this year. I read 59 last year. and with this reading challenge there are 52 books, so and extra 8 shouldn't be hard. I have some on my book shelf that are begging to be read so I think or I hope I will complete my goal.
